Huanta: Coordinador de la Defensoría del Pueblo amenaza a periodista

El periodista Carlos Buendía Aguilar, conductor del noticiero Central Informativa de Radio Huanta 2000, denunció haber sido víctima de amenazas por parte del coordinador del Módulo Defensorial de Huanta, Richard Olivera Villegas. El incidente ocurrió tras la difusión de presuntas irregularidades administrativas del funcionario.
En declaraciones a la Oficina de Derechos Humanos de la Asociación Nacional de Periodistas del Perú (ANP), Buendía relató que el hecho sucedió la noche del lunes 22 de diciembre. Ambos se encontraron en el auditorio de la Municipalidad Provincial de Huanta, donde se realizaba la juramentación de la nueva directiva del sindicato de trabajadores de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Huanta (UNAH), actividad a la que Olivera asistió acompañando a su esposa, quien asumía un cargo dirigencial.
Según su testimonio y un registro de audio, Olivera Villegas lo abordó para increparle por la información difundida en la edición matinal de su programa. El funcionario le expresó: “Estás poniendo en peligro tu integridad, tu familia, tu profesión, tu libertad. ¿Por qué sacas? Me estás macheteando feo. Hay que hablar sin cámara. ¿Quién está detrás de esto? ¿Cuánto te están dando?”. Tras proferir estas amenazas, el agresor se retiró del lugar.
El periodista señaló que este amedrentamiento está vinculado directamente a una investigación basada en documentos obtenidos mediante el portal de transparencia. En dicha publicación, Buendía demostró que existiría un cruce de horarios entre la labor de Olivera como docente universitario y su función en la Defensoría del Pueblo.
La Asociación Nacional de Periodistas del Perú (ANP) expresa su más enérgico rechazo a las amenazas proferidas contra el periodista Carlos Buendía Aguilar y expresa su plena solidaridad con él frente a estos actos de amedrentamiento que buscan intimidar y condicionar el ejercicio de la labor periodística.
La ANP es enfática en señalar que un funcionario público está obligado a actuar conforme al Código de Ética de la Función Pública y a respetar los principios democráticos que rigen su cargo.
Si un funcionario considera que una información periodística es inexacta, cuenta con mecanismos plenamente establecidos en el ordenamiento legal, como el derecho a réplica o la solicitud de rectificación.
La amenaza, la intimidación o el hostigamiento no tienen cabida en una sociedad democrática y menos aún cuando provienen de quien tiene el deber de proteger derechos fundamentales.
