Chiclayo: Periodistas son impedidos de cubrir visita oficial de enviado del Papa León XIV

Los periodistas David Chiroque, de Exitosa, y Joel Larrea, de TV Perú, fueron víctimas de hostigamiento, restricciones y hasta expulsión por parte de personal de seguridad y miembros de la comitiva oficial que acompañaba al Cardenal Michael Czerny, enviado del Papa León XIV, quien cumplía actividades en los hospitales Las Mercedes y Almanzor Aguinaga Asenjo de Chiclayo.
En declaraciones a la Oficina de Derechos Humanos de la Asociación Nacional de Periodistas del Perú – ANP, se reportó que los incidentes sucedieron este lunes 9 de febrero, alrededor del mediodía en la ciudad de Chiclayo.
El hostigamiento inició con la jornada, en el Hospital Almanzor Aguinaga Asenjo, donde se impidió el ingreso a todos los medios locales y nacionales, obligándolos a registrar el evento desde los exteriores, a través de las rejas, pese a que varios estaban previamente acreditados.
La situación escaló en el Hospital Las Mercedes del Minsa, donde personal de seguridad privada y de la Gerencia Regional de Salud bloquearon el trabajo de la prensa colocando las manos sobre los lentes de las cámaras.
David Chiroque denunció que una mujer de la comitiva le bajó el celular por la fuerza prohibiéndole grabar en el patio del hospital, un área común y pública, donde el cardenal daba un mensaje tras su visita en el marco de la XXXIV Jornada Mundial del Enfermo, mientras le repetía que “no se podía grabar”, poniéndose incluso frente a él y tapándole la visión.
Por su parte, Joel Larrea fue retirado del nosocomio casi a empujones por el personal de seguridad, quienes alegaron que se trataba de una “actividad privada” para justificar la decisión. Debido al ensañamiento y la hostilidad, varios periodistas se vieron forzados a abandonar la cobertura.
La Asociación Nacional de Periodistas del Perú (ANP) expresa su más enérgico rechazo a las restricciones, actos de hostigamiento y expulsión sufridos por periodistas durante la cobertura de la visita oficial del enviado papal a hospitales públicos de Chiclayo.
Impedir el registro informativo, obstruir cámaras, intimidar a reporteros acreditados y pretender calificar como “actividad privada” una agenda desarrollada en espacios públicos y de interés colectivo constituye una vulneración al derecho de la ciudadanía a estar informada.
