ANP presenta situación de periodistas a delegación de OEA en Perú

La Asociación Nacional de Periodistas del Perú (ANP) sostuvo una reunión con representantes del Grupo de Alto Nivel de la Organización de Estados Americanos (OEA) en el marco de la misión especial que realizan en nuestro país.
La sesión desarrollada en uno de los salones del Swissôtel contó con la presencia del compañero Renzo Chávez, secretario general; el Dr. Miguel Jugo, asesor legal ANP; y la periodista Graciela Tiburcio, quien ha sido víctima de ciberacoso a consecuencia de su actividad informativa.
Durante su intervención, el compañero Renzo Chávez presentó la situación general de periodistas y de la libertad de prensa en el Perú, con especial énfasis en los hechos e indicadores que el gremio viene registrando durante los últimos años.
Durante la retroalimentación de la misma, ante algunas preguntas de los diplomáticos, el Dr. Miguel Jugo señaló que el periodismo se encuentra en medio de la confrontación entre el Ejecutivo, el Legislativo y otros poderes fácticos; asimismo, la compañera Graciela Tiburcio presentó las diferentes formas de agresión que reciben las mujeres periodistas en el desarrollo de su trabajo, señalando que incluso en aquellas prácticas generalizadas (como la judicialización) las mujeres reciben mayor hostilidad.
Al cierre de la reunión la ANP entregó a los representantes de la OEA un informe especialmente preparado para esta ocasión y otros que han sido publicados anteriormente.
ANP presentó informe sobre libertad de prensa
La ANP en documento de trabajo elaborado para esta reunión señaló el permanente discurso estigmatizante que viene desde el Ejecutivo y algunas acciones hostigantes registradas en los últimos meses.
Asimismo, relevó la presencia de propuestas legislativas que, de aprobarse, ponen en grave riesgo la actividad periodística
También resaltó la instrumentalización del sistema de justicia con querellas que buscan intimidar a periodistas con procesos tediosos y solicitudes de reparación civil exorbitantes.
Igualmente, planteamos algunos hechos que han ocurrido con el Ministerio Público en su intento de vulnerar el secreto profesional o actos que intimidan a periodistas con allanamientos.
Entre los aspectos presentados en el documento de trabajo están la necesidad de un protocolo especial de la policía frente a la cobertura periodística, la situación de impunidad, el enfoque diferencial de los ataques por factor de género, entre otros.
