En un acto marcado por un fuerte espíritu de resistencia, se reunieron diversas organizaciones para reconocer el trabajo de personalidades que en el último año han contribuido notablemente con la defensa y promoción de los Derechos Humanos.
En ese marco, el corresponsal de La República en Puno, Liubomir Fernández, recibió el premio “Periodismo y Derechos Humanos”, en reconocimiento a su trabajo durante la cobertura de las movilizaciones sociales en su región.
Durante su agradecimiento, recordó que el trabajo del periodista está sujeto a la difusión de los hechos como sucedieron y la confrontación con las autoridades.
En esta ceremonia también fueron reconocidos el sacerdote Luis Zambrano de Juliaca con el premio “Francisco Soberón”, Edilberyo Jiménez con el premio “Mamá Angélica” y Eliana Revollar con el premio Ángel Escobar Jurado”. Asimismo, fue notable la presencia del destacado periodista de investigación Edmundo Cruz.
