La Asociación Nacional de Periodistas del Perú expresa su consternación por la tentativa de asesinato ocurrida en la provincia de Bellavista, región San Martín, contra los periodistas Luis Agustín Angulo Díaz, de radio La Ribereña y Pablo Torres Putpaña, quienes fueron embestidos por una camioneta blanca, doble cabina y de lunas polarizadas, que les venía haciendo seguimiento durante cobertura periodística en el distrito de San Pablo.
La camioneta, por lo que declaran testigos del hecho, tuvo claramente la intención de terminar con la vida de los dos comunicadores. Uno de ellos, Luis Agustín Angulo Díaz, permanece hospitalizado con afectaciones de gravedad.
Este atentado contra la vida de los colegas, según precisa la Asociación Nacional de Periodistas del Perú-Filial Bellavista, ocurre luego de serios cuestionamientos y denuncias periodísticas contra la gestión municipal del saliente alcalde de Bellavista, Eduar Guevara Gallardo, por lo que demandamos enérgicamente que se priorice esa línea de investigación.
La ANP demandan que de inmediato la Policía Nacional del Perú identifique a los autores materiales e intelectuales de este delito. En igual sentido instamos al Ministerio Público a formular denuncia penal contra quienes resulten responsables por este atentado contra la vida, el cuerpo y la salud.
Nuestra institución gremial demanda se otorguen a los periodistas garantías personales de manera inmediata a los periodistas Angulo Díaz y Torres Putpaña.
Desde el gremio nos mantendremos vigilantes y exhortamos a las instituciones del sistema de Naciones Unidas y Comisión Interamericana de Derechos Humanos a permanecer alertas hasta que los responsables respondan ante la ley.
