En declaraciones a la Oficina de los Derechos Humanos de la Asociación Nacional de Periodistas del Perú (ANP), la periodista manifestó que esto ha surgido a partir de sus investigaciones a la empresa china Cosco Shipping, encargada de la construcción del Megapuerto de Chancay, así como sus denuncias por malos manejos en la Municipalidad Provincial de Huaral.
Apolinar fue denunciada en el año 2022 por Cosco Shipping Ports Chancay Peru S.A. por el supuesto delito de difamación agravada, a partir de informaciones y comentarios sobre la empresa, de la que fue absuelta por el Segundo Juzgado Unipersonal de Huaral el 17 de marzo del presente, al no encontrarse pruebas del supuesto delito.
Sin embargo, tras la apelación del querellante, el 26 de octubre se declaró la nulidad de la sentencia que absolvía a la periodista, ordenándose que el caso vuelva a fojas cero y que sea otro juez el que lleve adelante el proceso.
Además, en abril del 2022 también fue denunciada por Carlos Tejada Mera, almirante de la Marina de Guerra del Perú y hoy funcionario de Cosco Shipping, quien la acusó por difamación, luego que la periodista informara la presunta comisión de irregularidades en la concesión de la obra.
No obstante, la afectación no es solo judicial. Según relata la periodista, también es víctima de constantes actos de hostigamiento, que van desde el seguimiento hasta la difusión de volantes difamatorios acusándola de utilizar a la población con fines económicos y calificándola de forma machista como “seudo periodista que le gusta quitar maridos”.
Judith Apoliar refiere que teme por su vida y ha presentado el pedido de garantías correspondiente en busca de salvaguardar su integridad.
La Asociación Nacional de Periodistas del Perú, fiel a su deber de velar por la integridad de quienes tienen la responsabilidad de informar en el país, invoca a las autoridades a brindarle garantías personales a la periodista a fin de salvaguardar su integridad.
La ANP subraya, además, que las personas naturales o jurídicas afectadas por lo que pueden considerar información inexacta deben recurrir a la vía penal como última ratio, sabiendo el efecto intimidatorio que tiene en la labor informativa.
