En declaraciones a la Oficina de los Derechos Humanos de la Asociación Nacional de Periodistas del Perú (ANP), el periodista informó que el miércoles 1 de noviembre alrededor de la medianoche, una persona enmascarada dejó un arreglo floral y un ejemplar de la edición del lunes 30 de octubre del Diario ‘El Chaski’, con un mensaje escrito: “Cállate o tu familia se muere”.

Según relata, el recién se percató de ello a las 6:00 am del jueves 2 de noviembre cuando abrió la puerta de fierro del ambiente donde funciona el medio de comunicación, en su vivienda. De inmediato, alertó a efectivos del Departamento de Investigación Criminal (DEPINCRI) de la Policía Nacional del Perú, quienes recogieron las pruebas.

Las imágenes de las cámaras de seguridad muestran a un varón, que utiliza una máscara para ocultar su identidad, acercándose a la puerta de la sede del diario llevando en manos los objetos de amenaza, aproximadamente a las 11:55 de la noche, para introducirlos entre las rejas.

Reyes Pacheco explica que esto sucede tras realizar denuncias contra autoridades regionales, siendo el detonante el reportaje publicado el reciente lunes 30 sobre los presuntos intereses de la gobernadora regional de Lima, Rosa Vásquez Cuadrado, de traspasar la sede de gobierno de Huacho a Cañete, su lugar de nacimiento. La amenaza fue escrita en el ejemplar que difundió dicha información.

Antonio Reyes informa que ya ha realizado la denuncia policial, habiéndo dado su manifestación y esperando que el caso pase a la fiscalía. Asimismo, está en proceso de solicitar garantías para él y su familia ante la Prefectura, requiriendo la debida protección y seguridad frente a las amenazas sufridas.

La Asociación Nacional de Periodistas del Perú – ANP condena los actos intimidatorios contra el periodista Alexander Antonio Reyes Pacheco, director del diario El Chaski, y exige a las autoridades competentes brindarle la debida protección, además de desarrollar las diligencias necesarias para identificar a los autores materiales e intelenctuales de este hecho.
